Home Energy Rebates
The Michigan Home Energy Rebates (MiHER) Program, funded through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and administered by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), provides rebates to help Michigan households improve energy efficiency, reduce energy costs, and increase home comfort.

MiHER includes two rebate pathways:
HOMES Rebates (Home Efficiency Rebates – IRA Section 50121)
Supports whole-home energy efficiency upgrades such as insulation, air sealing, heating and cooling systems, and other improvements that reduce overall energy use. Rebate amounts are based on the modeled energy savings achieved through the project.
Michigan received $105.7 million in federal funding allocated to HOMES.
HEAR Rebates (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates – IRA Section 50122)
Supports the installation of high-efficiency electric equipment such as heat pumps, water heaters, electric stoves, and electrical wiring upgrades. HEAR rebates are available to households with incomes at or below 150% of Area Median Income (AMI).
Michigan received $105.3 million in federal funding allocated to HEAR.
