Grand River closed to watercraft under M-106/US-127 BR (Cooper Street) in Jackson

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has closed a section of the Grand River under M-106/US-127 Business Route (BR) (Cooper Street) between Washington Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for bridge replacement in Jackson.

Restrictions:
Signs notifying boaters to avoid the work zone will be placed at upstream and downstream access sites when this work is occurring. Buoy lines will also
be in place to prevent boaters from entering the project area.

The new bridge will provide drivers with a safe, reliable structure for decades to come while water main work will improve drainage. Closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
