LANSING, Mich. - Due to worse conditions than expected with the beam supports, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is extending the repair time needed for the US-223 bridge between Division Street and Treat Highway in Lenawee County to mid-June.

Based on economic modeling, this $3.3 million investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 40 jobs.

Traffic restrictions:
One lane is closed in each direction on the US-223 bridge between Division Street and Treat Highway, with traffic maintained with a temporary traffic signal. Motorists should expect delays during peak traffic hours.

Safety benefit:
Performing regular maintenance on bridges helps improve and extend the service life of these structures. Closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
