US-24/I-75 connector and bridge project update: Northbound ramp, lanes reopening; southbound side closing
February 21, 2025
TAYLOR, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is beginning the second phase of the US-24/I-75 connector bridge project in Taylor. MDOT is expecting to reopen the northbound I-75 ramp connector to US-24 (Telegraph Road) and all four northbound US-24 lanes at Eureka Road on Sunday evening, Feb. 23, after closing the southbound side of US-24 at Eureka Road and closing the southbound US-24 ramp to southbound I-75. The time difference is to allow the crews to safely move equipment to the southbound side.
The current schedule for lane and ramp closures is as follows:
7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23
- Northbound and southbound US-24 will have lane closures for pavement markings, depending on weather.
5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, until November
- Southbound US-24 will have the right two lanes open near Eureka Road
- The southbound US-24 ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed and detoured via eastbound/northbound Dix-Toledo Road to southbound I-75.
6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23
- The northbound I-75 ramp to northbound US-24 will reopen with one lane.
- All lanes of northbound US-24 will reopen at Eureka Road.
9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 - 6 a.m. Monday, March 3
- Northbound US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be closed from Pennsylvania Road to Eureka Road for the demolition of the southbound US-24 ramp to southbound I-75. Traffic will be detoured via eastbound Pennsylvania Road, northbound Racho Road and westbound Eureka Road back to northbound US-24.
MDOT is investing $18.5 million to replace two bridges and improve four bridges on US-24 (Telegraph Road) from the US-24/I-75 connector to Mercier Avenue, north of Eureka Road, along with repairs to the US-24 connector between I-75 and Eureka Road.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nearly 263 jobs.
