Michigan Cardiovascular Disease Dashboard

Welcome to the Michigan Cardiovascular Disease Dashboard

Cardiovascular disease is a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels, such as heart disease, stroke, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism.

The MDHHS Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Unit developed this interactive dashboard to enable members of the public to examine cardiovascular disease among Michigan adults. It provides quick access to indicators at the state and county level, as well as demographics and selected comorbidities and controllable risk factors. There are three main sections:

  1. Cardiovascular disease prevalence, comorbidities, and risk factors;
  2. Hospitalizations in which cardiovascular disease overall, heart disease, and stroke was listed as the primary diagnosis; and
  3. Mortality in which heart disease and stroke was listed as the underlying causes of death.

How to Use This Dashboard

The MDHHS Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Unit has created a helpful video-based tutorial showing how to navigate to this dashboard from the main Cardiovascular Health, Nutrition and Physical Activity website and how to move through the various portions of the dashboard to find the information that you would like to review.
