Laura Blodgett, Senior Deputy Director, Communications Administration
Laura Blodgett is the senior deputy director for the Communications Administration for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
She oversees the Office of Communications, including internal and external communications and marketing, as well as the Bureau of Community Engagement and Workforce Transformation, which is focused on engaging employees and improving the department workplace, implementing continuous improvement projects across the organization and connecting with community and faith-based stakeholders across Michigan.
Blodgett is a communications leader with more than 25 years of experience. She has demonstrated expertise in crisis communications, media relations, corporate communications, management and public relations. Prior to MDHHS, she was the statewide manager of communications for Trinity Health Michigan, where she was involved in legislative and advocacy relations.
In addition to her health care experience, Blodgett has also been a contributing writer for Crain’s Detroit Business, The Detroit News and MLive, as well as had experience in automotive and agency communications.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University Chicago.
