State Court Administrative Office (SCAO) presents an opportunity for training in: Child Development And Responses To Child Sexual Abuse: Exploring Perspectives And Approaches For Planning, Placement, And Advocacy
When: August 21, 2014
Where: Adoba Hotel, 600 Town Center Drive, Dearborn, Michigan
This training will focus on issues of child development and working with children who have been sexually abused. Participants will learn about the stages and behaviors associated with normative child sexual development, indicators of sexual abuse, and strategies for appropriately responding to sexualized behavior. Participants will also learn about pediatric sexual assault examination protocols and strategies for working with children and families impacted by sexual abuse. Additionally, participants will receive information regarding infant mental health and the impact of trauma on child development.
Target Audience: All child welfare professionals, including court staff, jurists, prosecutors, attorneys, LGALs, CPS, public and private foster care workers, and tribes.
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE FOR THIS TRAINING. Lunch will be provided to participants; however, due to grant restrictions, we are unable to provide breakfast or snacks. Food is permitted in the meeting rooms so please plan accordingly. Travel, additional meals, and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the participant.
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. You should submit your registration as soon as possible to increase the likelihood that your registration will be confirmed. Please do not register to attend this training unless you have scheduling flexibility and have received the necessary authorization to attend.
