Child Care Fund Conference - Champions for Change

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Child Care Fund Monitoring Unit is pleased to announce the first annual all-day conference for professionals and leaders working with at-risk youth and families. The conference is the first annual conference focusing on issues related to best practice and innovative programming in juvenile justice and child welfare.
When: August 21, 2014
Where: The Ramada Hotel and Conference Center in Lansing
The conference will consist of two plenary presentations and one supplementary presentation. During the conference, John Tuell from the Robert F. Kennedy National Resource Center for Juvenile Justice will discuss working with dual status youth, including funding issues associated with this special population. Jane White from the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force will discuss human trafficking and interventions to work with in Michigan with this population. Ann Carrellas will present on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
Registration for the conference will be handled by the Child Care Fund Monitoring Unit. Please email in the provided registration at dhs-ccfmu@michigan.gov. The cutoff for registration is August 14, 2014. Registrants will receive an electronic confirmation detailing specific on-site registration information approximately two weeks prior to the conference. We reserve the right to limit attendance to allow for occupational and geographic diversity.
