Lisa Bolen

Lisa Bolen uses her education, experience and passion for Community Action to lead Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency (NEMCSA). Lisa earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Michigan State University and has fifteen years of experience in workforce development, last as Chief Operating Officer for Michigan Works Region 7B. As NEMCSA’s Executive Director/CEO, she leads a staff of nearly 750 and a yearly budget of over $60 million, providing programming to over 6,300 square miles of rural Michigan.

Proud to be a lifelong resident and advocate for northeast Michigan, Lisa serves on the Michigan Community Action Association Board as it’s Lower Peninsula Rural Officer. Lisa has served on the East Tawas City Council for over 15 years and is currently the Mayor Pro Tem. She is a former President of Develop Iosco, former President of the Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a founding member of two alternative education school boards serving Iosco and Ogemaw Counties. Ms. Bolen also serves on the Thunder Bay Transportation Authority Board and the 211 of Northeast Michigan Board.
