NEW for 2025!

Exciting changes are coming for Senior Project Fresh. Updates and registration information for these changes will be released soon!

This year, we are transitioning this program from a coupon system to an electronic system. Please continue to visit our website for information on how to register, and a list of community partners that will be able to assist you with this process.

If you are a farmer and are interested in participating, please complete this survey form (https://forms.office.com/g/NiZLCAHxmg) and a member of the SPF team will reach out to you with next steps. To be eligible to participate, farmers must sell locally grown produce (fruit, vegetables and/or honey) and grow some of the eligible items sold.

If you are interested in helping older adults and farmers apply and navigate the SPF program, you can become a Community Partner. Please watch this video for more information: https://youtu.be/66dQelPRiwA . If you would like to become a Community Partner, please complete this survey: https://forms.office.com/g/v70CMJx4me.

The Senior Project Fresh program is aimed at helping older adults eat healthier as they age.

The program provides participants free nutrition education and $25 in benefits that can be exchanged for fresh fruits, vegetables, and honey sold at local farmers’ markets and roadside stands.

Residents who are aged 60 or older with a total household income of $28,952.50 or less for an individual, or $39,127.50 for a couple, are eligible to apply for the program.

Residents who are aged 55 or older who belong to a Michigan federally recognized tribe or urban tribal group are also eligible.

Benefits must be obtained in the county in which the applicant lives. The program runs from May 1 to October 31 each year.

If you think you are eligible and would like to participate in the program, please reach out via Email to: MDHHS-SeniorProjectFRESH@michigan.gov
