Secretary of State office in Clinton Township closed for remodeling until July 31

Many transactions can be done at Michigan.gov/SOS

Clinton Township, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 37015 S. Gratiot Ave. in Clinton Township will be closed for two weeks for a remodeling project, but most residents can go online to Michigan.gov/SOS instead for their transactions.

The office will not open today, July 17, and will resume normal service at 9 a.m. on Monday, July 31.

Renovations include changes to the counter, new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. Electrical updates also will be done as part of the project.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s administration has doubled the number of services available online and now most transactions can be done from computer, tablet or mobile phone.

Self-service stations are available for instant registration, driver’s license and ID renewals, as well as some other transactions. There are machines located in the vicinity at the following locations:

  • Meijer, 40445 S. Groesbeck Hwy., Clinton Township
  • Meijer, 30800 Little Mack Ave., Roseville
  • Meijer, 34835 Utica Road, Fraser
  • Kroger, 21555 21 Mile Road, Macomb Township

Residents who need to come into an office for Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may schedule their visit at the next closest offices at Michigan.gov/SOS or by calling 888-767-6424.

The nearest offices are located at:

  • 18809 East 9 Mile Road, Eastpointe
  • 7917 19 Mile Road, Sterling Heights
  • 11533 East 12 Mile Road, Warren
  • 51305 Gratiot Ave., Chesterfield Township

The offices are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Wednesdays, when the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
