Complaints
The Michigan Campaign Finance Act (MCFA), Public Officers Financial Disclosure Act, and the Candidate for Office Financial Disclosure Act allow individuals to file a complaint with the Department of State alleging a violation of the respective Act has occurred. Complaints are filed with and investigated by the Bureau of Elections. If you have any questions, consult the Process & Instructions Guidebook which provides information on completing the complaint form as well as general information on the investigation process. Upon the conclusion of the investigation, complaints are posted on the Department’s website.
