In addition there are a number of metal ballot containers in use by many jurisdictions obtained prior to the state approving ballot containers. These containers can still be inspected and approved by county boards of canvassers so long as they are in a decent state of repair and allow ballots to be stored in a manner where ballots not can be added to or taken from the container without either breaking the seal or damaging the container.
