US-23 rebuilding south of Mackinaw City continues March 31

GAYLORD, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume its $17 million project to rebuild 3.3 miles of US-23 between South Huron Avenue in Mackinaw City and Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park in Cheboygan County on March 31. The project began last fall with culvert replacement and tree clearing along the corridor.

Work will begin on two sections of the corridor: from South Huron Avenue to south of Stimpson Road, and from north of the Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground to the Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park. Once those are complete, work on the segment in between (from south of Stimpson Road to Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground) is scheduled to start July 20.
