Nonpoint Source Program Plan
Contact: Alyssa Riley 517-512-9623
Section 319 of the Federal Clean Water Act requires each state to develop a Nonpoint Source Program Plan. Michigan's Nonpoint Source Program Plan directs the activities of Nonpoint Source Program staff in both the Central and District offices. Michigan’s Nonpoint Source Program vision is to protect high quality waters from nonpoint source threats and restore waters impaired by nonpoint source pollution or causes. The Nonpoint Source Program Plan outlines a series of goals, objectives, strategies and short-term actions necessary to achieve this vision. In addition, the Program Plan includes measures of success to evaluate progress toward achieving the Program’s vision.
