Current rulemaking

  • On December 12, 2024, the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) approved the Request for Rulemaking (RFR) for 2024-52 EQ submitted by EGLE. The RFR was subsequently forwarded to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and the EGLE Director. The EGLE Director determined he should have no further oversight of the rule set per PA 9 of 2024 and EO No. 2024-05 6(b).

  • On February 13, 2023, the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) approved EGLE's Request for Rulemaking (RFR) for 2023-13 EQ and sent the RFR to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and the ERRC. 

    On February 1, 2024, the 2023-13 EQ Draft Rules and Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) were sent to MOAHR and the ERRC. A quorum could not be established to review the draft rules and RIS within 35 days of receipt. EGLE will proceed to a public hearing on the draft rules per MCL 24.266(7)(d).

    The public comment period was held from April 22, 2024 to May 22, 2024. A Public Hearing was held on May 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.
                    
    The JCAR package was sent to the ERRC on August 1, 2024. A quorum could not be established to review the JCAR package.

    On 12-2-2024, MOAHR transmitted the package to JCAR.

  • On January 17, 2023, the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) approved EGLE's Request for Rulemaking (RFR) for 2023-5 EQ and sent the RFR to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and the ERRC.

    The ERRC’s Chair and Vice-Chair determined the ERRC should have no further oversight of the ruleset and the ERRC agreed.

  • On February 10, 2023, the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) approved EGLE's Request for Rulemaking (RFR) for 2023-11 EQ and sent the RFR to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and the ERRC.

    The ERRC’s Chair and Vice-Chair determined the ERRC should have no further oversight of the ruleset and the ERRC agreed.

  • On February 15, 2023, the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (MOAHR) approved EGLE's Request for Rulemaking (RFR) for 2023-14 EQ and sent the RFR to the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) and the ERRC.
