Virtual public meetings to highlight 2025 projects in west Michigan
MDOT will host two Teams live virtual public meetings on Thursday, March 20 to discuss major projects starting soon in west Michigan on state routes (US, M and I routes). Attendees will learn how to receive project-specific updates and other traffic information throughout the season.

Attendees who require mobility, visual, hearing, written, or other assistance for effective participation should contact Orlando Curry at 517-241-7462 or CurryO@Michigan.gov, preferably at least five business days prior to the scheduled meeting. Forms are located on the Title VI webpage. Requests made after this timeframe will be evaluated and honored to the extent possible.

Projects specifically covered in this meeting include:
- Rebuilding US-131 from 100th Street to 76th Street with the addition of interchange connection lanes joining 76th Street and 84th Street (April 2024 - fall 2025).
- Rebuilding I-96 from Bliss Road to Sunfield Road in Ionia County (April 2024 - fall 2026).
- Rebuilding the I-96/Fruit Ridge Avenue interchange in the city of Walker. The project also includes new pedestrian connections (March – November2025).
- Rebuilding 2.7 miles of the M-44 Connector (Plainfield Avenue) from I-96 to Airway Street (May – November 2025).
- Rebuilding M-37 (Broadmoor Avenue) from north of 44th Street to north of 60th Street in the city of Kentwood (April – November 2025).
- Bridge improvements on the westbound I-196 ramp to southbound US-131 over eastbound I-196 (September – October 2025).
- Resurfacing I-96 from M-37 (E. Beltline Ave.) to Cascade Road (May – June 2025).
- Resurfacing 3 miles of M-45 (Lake Michigan Drive) between Standale and Allendale (May - June 2025).
- Culvert replacement on US-131 between Sand Lake and Pierson in Montcalm County (March – August 2025).
- Resurfacing 7 miles of M-46 (Apple Avenue) from US-31 to Maple Island Road in Muskegon (April - September 2025).
