Red Leg Farms currently has about 40 head of mostly Scottish Highland Cattle and a flock of around 60 Katahdin haired sheep within 108 total acres. Livestock are on pasture year-round and grass fed using holistic management practices and managed grazing. Finished animals are direct marketed as 100% grass fed and sold to customers by the 1/2 or whole.
Michigan State University Extension and Red Leg Farms are hosting a pasture walk. There will be presentations on the following topics:
Grazing
Soil Health
EOV Monitoring
Horse Track Grazing System
Animal Health
Working w/ NRCS and MAEAP programs
