Nurish Brands Increases Export Through MDARDs International Marketing Program and Food Export

Since 2015, Nurish Brands has participated in Food Export-Midwest’s Branded Program paired with help from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (MDARD) International Marketing team. They have worked to establish their brand identity as a health conscious, all-natural energy drink. In 2023, they used resources from Food Export and MDARD to expand into the United Kingdom (UK). Allocating funds for advertisements and in-store shelving, the company has successfully increased brand awareness and is projected to have continued sales growth over the next 12 months.

With the growing demand for plant-based alternatives, Nurish Brands is poised for further success in the UK market. The company’s flagship product, FEEL Natural Energy, offers a refreshing alternative to traditional caffeinated beverages.

“My experience with Food Export has been phenomenal,” said Brian Turner, Founder and CEO of Nurish Brands. “We’ve worked closely with the Chicago office, which has been incredibly supportive and easy to collaborate with. Their guidance has been valuable amid the challenges of starting something new.”

Food Exports Branded Program provides qualified companies with 50% reimbursement for expenses related to international marketing activities for Michigan agriculture and food exports. With support from MDARD’s International Marketing team, you can take your business to international trade shows, exhibiting your products face-to-face with buyers. Branded Program funds can be used for advertisements, travel, public relations, and many more costs associated with expanding outside the U.S. For Nurish Brands, this strategic partnership has been instrumental in enhancing their export capabilities and expanding their reach in the United Kingdom.

Food Export uses funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Market Access Program to help America’s small businesses increase their exports of food and agricultural products. As these exports increase, these small businesses are creating jobs and improving the strength and stability of our agricultural economy. Food Export-Midwest and Food Export-Northeast are non-profit organizations that work in collaboration with their member state departments of agriculture and the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. They offer a wide range of programs and services that help boost America’s agricultural exports.
