Mitchell State Park - June 7, Wild Mushroom Clinic
Get ready for an immersive and hands-on experience with Outdoor Skills Academy lead instructor Jeff Lash! Join us for a full-day clinic where you'll dive into the world of Michigan’s seasonal edible wild mushrooms and more. We’ll focus on the “big five” seasonal mushrooms – depending on the time of year, these will include morel, chanterelle, chicken of the woods, hen of the woods and oyster mushrooms – plus explore any other wild delights that nature has in store for us!
Not only will you learn where to find these hidden treasures, but you'll also discover the best practices for safely harvesting, cleaning and preparing them.
Cost is $40, which includes lunch, a class packet and a mushroom ID book.
