Are you ready to cast your line into the world of fly fishing? Join us for an exciting and educational day at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center, where instructors will guide you through the essentials of fly fishing in a fun and interactive environment.
This clinic is designed for beginners to intermediate enthusiasts, offering an introduction to the art of fly fishing with expert-led demonstrations and hands-on instruction. You'll learn the fundamental fly-casting techniques, discover the secrets of fly selection based on your target species and gain the skills to confidently approach your next fishing adventure.
The fly-fishing seminars are classroom-only sessions.
Cost is $35.
To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.
Cancellation policy: To cancel your registration, please contact our Customer Service help desk line at 800-737-6367. Cancellations made up to 14 days prior to the program will be completely refunded to the original form of payment. If you cancel after the two-week deadline, no refund will be issued.

A Recreation Passport is required for entry into Mitchell State Park.
