Commissioner
Mr. Shea was appointed Commissioner of the Michigan Public Service Commission for a six-year term beginning July 2, 1995. Before joining the Commission, Mr. Shea was a principal in the Lansing office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. specializing in state and federal administrative and government law, with an emphasis on public utility issues. Prior to joining the firm, he was a staff attorney with the Michigan House of Representatives Public Utilities Project.
He received his law degree cum laude in 1984 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School; M.A. in 1980 and B.A. in 1976 from Michigan State University. He was a member of the Michigan and American Bar Associations and a member of the Committee on Finance and Technology of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.
