Kaylee Stevens
When Kaylee found out she was pregnant, many people told her she would never graduate from high school. They told her she would never go to college.
Kaylee refused to listen. She started working harder than ever on her coursework. Kaylee overcame the odds and proved the naysayers wrong. On May 21, 2020, Kaylee graduated from Bay-Arenac Community High School.
After graduation, Kaylee took part in the Young Professionals eight-week summer program and worked at Bayshire Beauty Academy as a secretarial aide. During the program, Kaylee participated in the career readiness coursework, also participating in guidance and counseling as well as mentoring. After completing Young Professionals, Kaylee enrolled at Delta College.
In Kaylee's words, "I'm grateful to have had the chance to work in the Young Professionals Program. It helped me gain experience in the real world and gain money management skills. It also helped me with my social skills, because after I had the baby, I isolated myself from people. I just want to thank them for never giving up on me and encouraging me to go after my dreams!"
