Transition Program Information
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) programs are held for high school or college students aged 14 - 26, who are blind or visually impaired (BVI). All programs tie back to the 5 goals of transition services and may target specific age groups or interests. Check back often for updated program information.
Please Note: Some programs require pre-registration or a recommendation to attend from your BSBP Counselor.

Beyond the Money
Ready to give back and learn valuable life skills? Join the Michigan Department of Education – Low Incidence Outreach (MDE-LIO) and the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) for a series of workshops focused on financial literacy and volunteering.
These workshops are for students in Michigan, ages 14 and older, who are Blind/Visually Impaired.

Growing Through Career Conversations
Join the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP) and the Michigan Department of Education – Low Incidence Outreach (MDE-LIO) to explore potential careers and learn about workplace skills! At this event, students ages 14 and older who are Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI), parents, and professionals will have opportunities to network with role models who are BVI and are currently employed in exciting careers. Panelists will share how they found their careers, including how self-advocacy, determination, and confidence played a role in their journey.

Survivor in the Workplace
This program is designed to assist students in gaining an applicable understanding of critical soft skills needed for workplace and/or post-secondary success.
Students will participate in group and individual challenges centered around popular reality series “Survivor” themed activities related to problem solving, critical thinking, appropriate attire, communication and team building.
If you think you can outthink and outlast the competition to become the Survivor in the workplace champion, we welcome you.
