BEAD Locations
Based on the results of the BEAD State Challenge Process, the National Telecommunications and Information Agency (NTIA) has given final approval for 248,253 homes, business, and community anchor institutions to be included in Michigan’s BEAD program. Michigan has eligible BEAD locations in all 83 counties across the entire state. As described in Michigan’s BEAD subgrant process, MIHI has divided the state into hexbins that will be used for BEAD project design. Applicants will design their projects by selecting one or more hexes.
Michigan's BEAD Program uses the FCC CostQuest Fabric Version 3 as of 2/7/24. Information on obtaining the CostQuest fabric can be found at NTIA Tier D License Request.
Below, you will find helpful resources to explore interactive project design and BEAD eligibility of locations.
MIHI re-published the list of BEAD eligible locations on March 3rd, 2025. The only change from the original list of BEAD eligible locations initially published on 12/20/2024 was the removal of all BSL locations funded by the USDA reconnect program. Below is the list of final eligible locations and a spreadsheet annotating the differences after the 3/3/2025 change.
