In 2023, Resident Rights/Exercise of Rights (F550) was among the top ten citations for nursing homes in the state of Michigan. Approximately one out of every four nursing homes received a citation for F550 during federal certification survey activities. In 2025, in an effort to help nursing homes with their Rights practices, SLCS is conducting on-site Rights Consultations to provide education and information, review policies and procedures, and discuss measures to enhance or improve processes that are identified through onsite reviews, discussions, and observations.
