The State Surplus program works with State Agencies to reutilize and sell State of Michigan surplus property. Surplus also sells confiscated property for the Department of Natural Resources, Michigan State Police, and the Transportation Security Administration. The public is able to purchase State Surplus property at reasonable prices through the MiBid auction site or at a quarterly in-person sale.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR DEC. 6 FOR THE NEXT IN-PERSON SURPLUS SALE

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget's (DTMB) state surplus area is holding its next quarterly in-person sale on Friday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. In person sales are held in Lansing at 3111 W. St. Joseph St., Building 600. A sale may be cancelled due to lack of inventory, so please visit Michigan.gov/Surplus for the latest news on state surplus events. 

The sale includes a wide array of items, including sporting goods, tools, automotive equipment, office furniture, jewelry, and other fashion accessories. Payments can be made with cash and credit cards. All items are sold as is and all sales are final.  No loading assistance will be available.  

MiBid

MiBid is the online auction website for surplus sales.  The site offers users advanced security features, several payment options, and bidder confidentiality. The site is integrated with the State of Michigan MiLogin portal, which provides a secure, single point of access to many state services.  

The MiBid auction site is open to everyone, including local governments. All auction items may be viewed by the public, however, a free MiLogin account is required to bid on items. Users with a MiLogin account to access other state services are ready to go.
