Young State Park - Sept. 26-27, Harvest Festival
We will start out the weekend on Friday night with the decorating of individual sites, and picking a pumpkin for the pumpkin carving contest from our pumpkin patch, (park provides the pumpkins). We offer a kids movie at dusk on Friday night. This is done in the day use area (popcorn and apple cider are provided) On Saturday, we start out the day with doughnuts, coffee/hot chocolate in the day use area, with kids games and crafts to follow. There will be a kids costume contest in the afternoon followed by trick or treating throughout the campground. We end the night with a hayride through the park to look at the decorated sites. Site decoration and pumpkin carving judging takes place at this time also.
Pumpkin and site decoration contest are for campers only, everything else is open to the public. Campers are encouraged to bring candy to hand out to the trick or treaters.
A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations.com or call 1-800-447-2757.
Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival.
