Feb. 15: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Feb. 16: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This two-day class will cover advanced techniques for catching panfish, walleye and northern pike through the ice. Instructors will spend the first day indoors, focused on which lures and rigs are best for varying conditions, how to effectively use sonar and camera electronics, and tip-up styles and rigging techniques. The second day features fishing on the ice. Location will be determined based on weather conditions. A warming hut, augers and ice shanties (available on a first-come, first-served basis) will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own equipment. Instruction will be provided by ice fishing pro staff from Clam Outdoors, HT Enterprises, Vexilar and more.

Cost is $50, which includes lunch on Saturday.

To register for this class, go to Michigan.gov/DNRLicenses and click on the "Purchase a license" button. Sign in (using either a username and password or your ID and birthdate), and find the class under the Outdoor Skills Academy tab.

Cancellation policy: To cancel your registration, please contact our Customer Service help desk line at 800-737-6367. Cancellations made up to 14 days prior to the program will be completely refunded to the original form of payment. If you cancel after the two-week deadline, no refund will be issued.
