BAKER LAKE - WC-08-99-001 - No high speed boating

On the waters of Baker lake, section 16, town 3 north range 10 west, Yankee Springs township, Barry county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to operate a vessel at high speed.

"High Speed Boating" is defined as a speed at which a boat reaches a planing condition.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

COBB LAKE CHANNEL - WC-08-95-002 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Cobb lake from the North end of Cobb lake from the mouth of the channel and extending northeasterly 2000 feet to the end of the channel, all within section 7, town 3 north, range 10 west, Yankee Springs township, Barry county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

CUDDY DRAIN TO GUN LAKE - R281.708.3 - Slow-no wake speed.

3. On the waters of Cuddy drain to Gun lake, sections 19 and 30, town 3 north, range 10 west, Yankee Springs township, Barry county, it shall be unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

7. On the waters of Deep lake, section 26, town 3 north, range 10 west, Yankee Springs township, Barry county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

GUERNSEY LAKES, BIG AND LITTLE, CHANNEL CONNECTING - WC-08-95-04 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Guernsey lake in the channel area connecting Little Guernsey lake, located in the southeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of section 18 lying westerly and northerly of lots 29 through 38 of the Oakridge Shores Plat in section 18, town 2 north, range 9 west, Hope township, Barry county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

BIG GUERNSEY LAKE'S SOUTH WEST CHANNEL - WC-08-99-003 - Slow-no wake speed

On the waters of Big Guernsey Lake's south west channel, within section 19, town 2 north, range 9 west, Hope township, Barry county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

GULL LAKE - R281.708.10 - Watercraft speed limit.

10. On the waters of Gull lake, section 36, T1N, R10W, Prairieville township, and section 31, T1N, R9W, Barry township, Barry county, it is unlawful at any time to operate a vessel at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour (64 kilometers per hour.) (See R281.739.9 covering that portion of Gull lake which lies in Kalamazoo county.)

GUN LAKE, CHANNELS AND CANALS - R281.708.8 - Slow-no wake speed.

8. On the waters of the canals and channels connected to Gun lake, sections 19 and 30, T3N, R10W, Yankee Springs township, Barry county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

GUN LAKE - WC-08-95-001 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Gun lake, section 30 town 3N, range 10W, Yankee Springs Township, Barry County, in the channel connecting West Gun Lake and Robbins Bay, from the point where the northwest property line of lot number 78 of Parker's Lakewood plat meets the water, thence in a southwest direction to the west side of the island and from the point where the southeast property line of lot number 80 of Parker's Lakewood plat meets the water, thence south to the east side of the island, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

GUN LAKE - WC-08-99-002 - Slow-no wake speed.

On the waters of Gun Lake, in the area known as Gun Ho, from Blackbird Island to the south shoreline within section 6, town 2 north, range 10 west, Orangeville township, Barry county, state of Michigan, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

The boundaries of the area described immediately above shall be marked with signs and with buoys. All buoys must be placed as provided in a permit issued by the Department of Natural Resources and be in conformance with the State Uniform Waterway Marking System.

GUN LAKE, CANALS ON ENGLANDS POINT - R281.708.1 - Slow-no wake speed.

1. On all waters of the canals of Gun lake, whose entrance is on the west side of Englands Point, sections 5 and 6, town 2 north, range 10 west, township of Orangeville, county of Barry, state of Michigan, lying easterly of a line 750 feet west of and parallel to the east section line of section 6, no operator of any motorboat shall exceed a slow-no wake speed.

LONG LAKE - R281.708.4 - Hours for high-speed boating and water skiing.

4. On the waters of Long lake, sections 10 and 15, town 1 north, range 8 west, Johnstown township, Barry county, it is unlawful, between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. of the following day, to:

(a) Operate a vessel at high speed, or

(b) Have in tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

LONG LAKE - R281.708.5 - Water skiers; towing limitations.

5. On the waters of Long lake, sections 10 and 15, town 1 north, range 8 west, Johnstown township, Barry county, it is unlawful to tow, or otherwise assist in the propulsion of, more than one person at one time on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

PINE LAKE, CONNECTING CHANNELS AND CANALS, PORTION OF- R281.708.6 - Slow-no wake speed.

6. On that portion of Pine lake and the channels and canals connected thereto, between a line from where the west line of lot 28, supervisor's plat of Ford's point, intersects the water's edge, thence southwesterly to where the south line of lot 122, supervisor's plat No. 1 of Long point, intersects the water's edge and a line from the point where the east line of lot 118, supervisor's plat No. 1 of Long point, intersects the water's edge, thence northerly to the point where the south line of lot 38, supervisor's plat of Ford's point, intersects the water's edge, section 5, T1N, R10W, Prairieville township, Barry county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed.

PINE LAKE, CONNECTING CHANNELS AND CANALS, PORTION OF - R281.708.9 - Slow-no wake speed.

9. On the waters of Pine lake and the channels and canals connected thereto, sections 5, 6, 7, and 8, T1N, R10W, Prairieville township, Barry county, it is unlawful for the operator of a vessel to exceed a slow-no wake speed when within 100 feet of any shore, dock, raft, buoyed or occupied bathing area, or vessel moored or at anchor, except when water skiers are being picked up or dropped off if that operation is otherwise conducted with due regard to the safety of persons and property and in accordance with the laws of this state.

SHELP LAKE - WC-08-95-003 - Hours for high-speed boating.

On the waters of Shelp lake, section 4, town 1 north, range 10 west, township of Prairieville, county of Barry, state of Michigan, it is unlawful between the hours of 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. of the following day to:

(a) Operate of vessel at high speed.

(b) Have in tow, or shall otherwise assist in the propulsion of a person on water skis, water sled, surfboard, or other similar contrivance.

The hours should be 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. of the following day when Eastern Daylight Savings Time is in effect. "High-speed boating" is defined by the Marine Safety Act to mean a speed at or above which a motorboat reaches a planing condition.

THORNAPPLE RIVER IN PART OF HASTINGS TOWNSHIP- R281.708.2 - Slow-no wake speed.

2. On the waters of the Thornapple river, sections 25 and 26, town 3 north, range 8 west, township of Hastings, county of Barry, an operator of a vessel shall not exceed a slow-no wake speed, which means a very slow speed whereby the wake or wash created by the vessel would be minimal.
