Michigan Mammals
Why do mammals have different types of fur? How can you tell what a mammal eats by looking at its teeth? How does a skull tell you about the bite strength? Find out in this session where your students will learn how to:
- Explain three ways the State Parks are beneficial to Michigan mammals.
- Describe what determines the type of hair a mammal has.
- Identify a mammal's diet and habitat based off of the teeth they possess.
- Describe the winter survival plan of at least one Michigan mammal.
Registration and materials
- For third through 12th grade.
- If desired, teachers can borrow a prepacked box of props for the program from the Eddy Discovery Center at Waterloo State Recreation Area.
