DENSO Manufacturing Michigan Inc. earns MVAA's Gold-level Veteran-Friendly Employer status
April 17, 2025
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Today, the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) Director Brian L. Love awarded DENSO Manufacturing Michigan Inc. with their Gold-level Veteran-Friendly Employer status. This honor recognizes the employer's commitment to veteran recruitment, training, and retention in their hiring practices.
"We are excited to honor DENSO Manufacturing as the 34th employer to earn Gold-level with the MVAA's Veteran-Friendly Employer program and we thank them for their commitment to hiring, training, and retaining Michigan veterans," says MVAA Director Love. "Military veterans bring unique skills and experiences to the job and strengthen any organization no matter the industry. It is critical to the success of Michigan and veterans that more employers make the effort to attract and retain veteran talent.
DENSO has been producing leading automotive thermal products in Battle Creek for 40 years. In October 2018, MVAA recognized DENSO as a Bronze-level Veteran-Friendly Employer and earned Silver-level in October 2019. In 2024, DENSO's retention rate of veterans was 95% due to their veteran specific onboarding process, an active veteran employee resource group and providing veterans with opportunities to connect with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, MVAA, and local resources for veterans and their families. DENSO also has a leave policy with differential pay for National Guard and Reservist called up on orders.

Veteran-Friendly Employer program:
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) recognizes employers that commit to military veteran recruitment, training and retention practices by awarding those employers Gold, Silver and Bronze level status as Veteran-Friendly Employers. MVAA's Veteran-Friendly Employer program helps qualified organizations recruit and retain top veteran talent while providing others a road map to improve their recruitment efforts.
MVAA will assist employers as they develop and improve their efforts to recruit and retain high-quality veteran candidates. Employers who meet the criteria will be publicly recognized and allowed to use the Gold, Silver or Bronze Michigan Veteran-Friendly Employer logo to market themselves to potential veteran applicants.
If your organization would like to be recognized as a Veteran-Friendly Employer, please review the criteria and fill out the Veteran-Friendly Employer Application and submit it. Veteran-Friendly Employers are encouraged to submit their logo, which will be used solely for display on the MVAA webpage showcasing the Veteran-Friendly Employers.
