LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) has issued their Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 annual report. The report, which covers the period from Oct. 1, 2023 through Sept. 30, 2024, details the state agency's efforts on behalf of the state's more than 516,000 veterans and their families, including assisting more than 28,000 individuals, earning more than 1.2 million social media impressions, and the distribution of more than $15.5 million in grants and other funding direct to veterans and veteran organizations."We always say that MVAA stands for those who served and our FY 2024 annual report is tangible evidence of that unwavering commitment. I am very proud of what our dedicated staff accomplished on behalf of Michigan's veterans in the last year but, as always, we know there is more work to be done," said MVAA Director Brian L. Love. "We hope that when people read this report, they get a better understanding of our mission, how we help veterans and their families, and the incredible individuals who made so many sacrifices to serve our state and nation."
The MVAA is the central coordinating agency, providing support, care, advocacy and service to veterans and their families. As a state agency, the MVAA works to identify and break down barriers veterans face in employment, education, health care and quality of life, to make Michigan a great place for veterans and their families to call home.
