Why We Serve Veterans
The Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) stands for those who served.
"One veteran who is experiencing homelessness is one too many — they served and sacrificed so much for us that I want to be able to give back and serve them."
In the next episode in our 'Why We Serve' series, meet MVAA's homeless veteran coordinator, Cassie Smith, and learn how you can get involved in helping veterans experiencing homelessness.
Contacting the Michigan Veteran Affairs Agency
At the MVAA, we work hard to provide veterans and their families with the resources and connections you need to be successful and have earned through service. The Michigan Veteran Resource Service Center (MVRSC) helps veterans and their families access discharge documents, get connected to Veteran Service Officers and find services to assist in their needs.
If you would like to speak to a technician with the MVRSC, call 800-MICH-VET (800-642-4838). Our technicians are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trained 211 agents are available after hours, guaranteeing someone can take your call 24/7. The MVRSC can perform check-ins on Michigan veterans to connect veterans with their benefits. To request a check-in, please click on the Check on MIVet form. If you would like to seek other resources, see the Veteran Benefits and Resources provided below.
