Bob Slattery has been working with local officials and Michigan communities large and small for over 35 years. He has been a senior planner for the Road Commission for Oakland County, and director of planning for the Genesee County Road Commission.

Most recently he was director of the Department of Public Works for the City of Burton, the second largest city in Genesee County.

He was mayor of his small hometown of Mt. Morris, Michigan from 1991 to 2009 after serving as chairman of the planning commission there for several years.

As president of the Michigan Association of Mayors, and then as president of the Michigan Municipal League in 2001-2002, Bob visited dozens - maybe hundreds - of cities around Michigan. He was named an Honorary Life Member of the League in 2006, and continues to represent the League and Michigan cities and villages on the statewide Transportation Asset Management Council.

Bob holds a Master of Urban Planning Degree from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor's Degree in Resource Planning from the University of Michigan-Flint.

Bob and his wife Vicki have been married since 1979 and have two very accomplished grown daughters, Kristin and Stephanie.
