Asset Management (AM) Readiness

MIC is committed to building a culture of asset management through comprehensive education, measurement, and outcomes. Infrastructure owners and government leaders are encouraged to evaluate and grow capacity through the Asset Management Readiness Assessment Scale and explore learning opportunities through the AM Champions program.

Instructional Videos -Looking for additional assistance with the Asset Management Readiness Assessment Scale? These four introductory videos provide an overview of the purpose and benefits of The Scale as well as instructions for its use. 

Data Submission - AM Readiness Assessment results submitted to the Michigan Department of Treasury and/or Regional Planning Organizations are considered confidential.  Aggregated results may be used to develop regional and statewide policy related to infrastructure asset management.
 

Reference Materials

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) and their partner, the Canadian Network of Asset Managers (CNAM), have developed a number of introductory and best practice documents to assist local governments with understanding and improving their asset management capabilities.
 
 
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an organization that develops and publishes international standards for numerous products and services. ISO 55000:2014 provides an overview of asset management, its principles, and the expected benefits from adopting asset management.
