MDE Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Online Training Modules Available

MDE Office of Nutrition Services (ONS) has new online training modules available for CNP Sponsors accessible from Online Training Modules (michigan.gov). Choose your program link (CACFP, School Nutrition Program, etc.) to see trainings available applicable for your program. The modules are free. The modules applicable for CACFP include:

CNP: Ten Cents a Meal for Michigan Kids & Farms

CNP: Product Labels

CNP: Special Dietary Needs Part 1

CNP: Special Dietary Needs Part 2

CNP: Standardized Recipes

CACFP: Creditable Menus

CACFP: Family-Style Meal Service

CACFP: Roles and Requirements of Administrative Review Officials


Navigating this Course

The full CACFP Recordkeeping course can take anywhere from 2-4 hours to complete, which is why we've divided it up into five parts plus the final quiz. 

  • Part 1: Overview of CACFP and Recordkeeping (est. 15-30 min)
  • Part 2: Annual Requirements (est. 30-60 min)
  • Part 3: Monthly Requirements (est. 20-40 min)
  • Part 4: Site Monitoring Forms (est. 10-15min)
  • [Optional] Part 5: Claim Submissions (est. 15-20 min)
  • Final Quiz: Cumulative quiz on parts 1-4 and the course completion receipt.

You should complete each part in order. After you complete the recap quiz in each part, a link to the next part will be provided. We encourage you to bookmark or save the link to each new part as you get to it for easy future access in case you are unable to complete the training at that time.
