Mitchell Robinson is Associate Professor of Music Education at Michigan State University. He received Bachelors degrees in music education and trumpet from the State University of New York at Buffalo, a Master of Music Education degree from the Hartt School, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUC @ Oswego (NY), and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Eastman School of Music. He is published in Music Educators Journal, Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education, Journal of Music Teacher Education, and Arts Education Policy Review, and is a co-author of books on beginning music teacher mentoring and induction, qualitative research, and urban music education. He has presented at regional and national conferences including National Association for Music Education, College Music Society, and the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Robinson was previously Coordinator of Music Education at the University of Connecticut, and also taught at the Eastman School of Music.
