Corporate Community Leader - Griffin Properties
Corporate Community Leader Award: honors corporations and businesses that excel in community involvement and demonstrate excellent corporate citizenship by giving back to their community in a variety of ways.
GRIFFIN PROPERTIES in Grand Rapids believes community service and volunteerism are an investment in the community and the people who live in it. The business recently launched the Griffin Properties Corporate and Community Partnerships Program, a creative initiative designed to build sustainable collaborations with charitable organizations in the Grand Rapids area. Through this program, Griffin Properties provides simple ways to raise money for area foundations, faith-based institutions, and nonprofits. Griffin Properties CEO, Diane Griffin, served as Campaign Chair for the $2.6 million dollar “Our Goodness is Growing Campaign” for the Fulton Street Farmers Market, to generate funds to provide much-needed infrastructure improvements to the space. The business has logged nearly 8,000 employee volunteer hours since 2010. In a new initiative, employees collaborate with the Cherry Health AmeriCorps program, connecting national service members with community volunteers to provide a day of services to a variety of nonprofits, leaving a legacy of service that makes an impact.
