Temporary Practice Permit
Article 26 of the Occupational Code allows individuals licensed in another state to apply to Michigan for a temporary permit to do appraisals that are federally related. A temporary permit is valid for 180 days. The applicant must submit an application for a temporary permit, along with a fee of $125.00. The application requires a written description of the appraisal assignment and a Consent to Service of Process form. A search of the National Registry will allow verification of the applicant's good standing.
A temporary permit application and Consent to Service of Process form may be submitted on-line at www.michigan.gov/mylicense or obtained by downloading the forms from the State of Michigan Appraisers website, www.michigan.gov/appraisers.
