The Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) regulates the state’s adult-use establishment and medical facility licensees in accordance with the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA) and the Medical Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA) and their associated administrative rules. The Operations Support Section monitors compliance of licensees within the cannabis industry through the statewide monitoring system, made possible by the Marihuana Tracking Act. Resources are available on best practices for marijuana businesses to ensure compliance with the acts and rules.
The Scientific Section oversees the safety compliance facilities that conduct the safety and compliance testing on the products sold in Michigan’s licensed cannabis market.
The Field Operations Section oversees inspections and investigations in compliance with the acts and rules. Regulation Officers conduct inspections on all licensed marijuana businesses and Regulation Agents investigate complaints of noncompliance.
