Technical Steps to Close a License with the CRA
How to properly close a licensed marijuana business with the Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA).
Steps to Close a License:
- All harvest batches (cultivators and microbusinesses) must be packaged and marked as finished in Metrc.
- All transfer manifests must be cleared meaning no pending incoming or external transfers.
- All packages must have a zero quantity and finalized or be discontinued.
- All sales must be finalized and uploaded in Metrc (sales locations).
- All remaining product and/or plants must be destroyed or transferred.
- The Licensee should print reports and inactive data from Metrc for their records. Once the license is closed, access to the license data is unavailable.
- Once the Metrc tasks are completed, please review and complete the Request to Close License Form. This form will be submitted to CRA-Compliance@michigan.gov.
