The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 22, 2010 to consider the possible parole of Claude Mayhand, #173273. It will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.
Claude Mayhand is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Delivery of 650 Grams or More of Cocaine and a Life sentence for the crime of Possession With Intent to Deliver 650 Grams or More of Cocaine. He was sentenced on March 27, 1989 from Wayne County.
Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.
By Statute, prisoners serving a Life sentence under MCL 333.74012A1, must serve 15, 17 ½ or 20 calendar years, based on predetermined factors, before the Parole and Commutation Board can obtain jurisdiction.
