A public hearing to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Valiant Leo White, Jr., #225440.

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 17, 2008, to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Valiant Leo White, Jr., #225440. It will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the T-100 Training Center, G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, Jackson, Michigan.

Valiant Leo White, Jr. was sentenced to life on July 8, 1992 from Wayne County for the crime of Possession of Controlled Substance over 650 grams.

Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234(6).

By statute, prisoners serving a life sentence under MCL 333.74032A1, who committed their crime before October 1, 1992 must serve 10 calendar years, before the parole board can obtain jurisdiction.
