Web Platform Upgrade for Motor Fuel Tax

The current Motor Fuel Tax and Tobacco Tax web platform, MiMATS, will be merged into the new Michigan Treasury eServices platform on November 12, 2026. In preparation for this change, MiMATS will be unavailable starting at 5 p.m. on October 30, 2026.

Executive Order No. 2026-15 Declaration of State of Energy Emergency

Governor Whitmer has declared a state of energy emergency statewide due to surging fuel prices linked to global oil market disruptions. The order temporarily allows farm and wood harvester vehicles with the proper plates to legally use dyed (off-road) diesel on public highways, and remains in effect until the emergency ends or by December 31, 2026.
