2025-04-26T11:00:00Z 2025-04-26T15:00:00Z Outdoor Adventure Center - Trails Expo

In honor of Celebrate Trails Day, an annual event from the Rail to Trails Conservancy, the OAC is celebrating our very own neighborhood rail trail! Join us for our very first Trails Expo on the Dequindre Cut, which was once a line on the Grand Trunk Railroad.

This outdoor adventure features local experts in hiking, biking, paddling and more. Learn tips and tricks for hitting the trails from the best, then test out your skills in hands-on workshops.

This is a free, outdoor event held rain or shine; please dress for the weather. Regular admission fees apply for building access. Some workshops may have an additional per person cost – see information below.

Workshops:

Run for the Trees: Happy Little 5K Guided Run
10-11 a.m.

No matter how you reach the finish line – walk, run or roll – you pick the pace and the place, anywhere outdoors! Everyone who participates gets a Happy Little T-shirt, a commemorative bib number and finisher's medal. Running is more fun with good company – join OAC staff plus the teams of RUNDetroit and BYOC (Be Your Own Cheerleader) for a guided run along the Dequindre Cut! Registration is encouraged by April 1 to ensure delivery before the April events. Packets will start shipping March 1. Registration closes on April 15.

Preregistration is required. Cost is $36. Register for Happy Little Trees 5K.
