Governor’s Traffic Safety Advisory Commission Awards
The 2024 GTSAC Traffic Safety Awards were presented to:
Richard H. Austin Long-Term Service Award
- Sergeant Jerry Hilborn, who serves the Michigan State Police’s (MSP) Seventh District, for his years of dedicated service as a traffic crash reconstructionist for the Michigan State Police.
Outstanding Traffic Safety Achievement Award
- Bike Lights for Michigan Nights, for its efforts to decrease the number of bicyclist fatalities that occur in low-light conditions.
- Macomb County Department of Roads for its innovative efforts in reducing fatal crashes in the county.
- Sgt. Bradley Campbell, who serves out of MSP’s Lakeview Post, for his work ensuring work-zone safety during a large-scale road project in Ionia County.
Student Award
- Ms. Emilee Bonter, a freshman at Grand Valley State University, for her leadership role in promoting teen safe driving while a student at Herbert Henry Dow High School in Midland.
