Data that school districts submit in REP are used to produce school personnel reports for the U.S. Department of Education and the State of Michigan. The Michigan Department of Education uses REP data for their teacher certification audit.

(Nonpublic schools submit their personnel data in the Nonpublic School Personnel Report.)

  • CEPI District/ISD/PSA User Application Security Form
  • Districts are required to update records in REP within 30 days of changes in employment or assignment.
  • Certification deadlines: REP data must be certified by the last business day of June and the first business day in December.

See the CEPI Calendar Page for deadlines and collection dates.

Mi-Key

Mi-Key is an integrated system that maintains a single unique identifier for individuals in the education sector. It uses advanced matching to let us connect education data records over time, including students (early childhood through postsecondary) and educational personnel, to reduce reporting burdens and increase efficiency.

Mi-Key will go live in summer/fall 2027.

This backend system will contain the state-recognized education identifier and be the source of truth for the identifier and a limited set of demographics.
