Misti Rice, Rochester Hills
As the Executive Director of Government Affairs at Magna International Inc., Misti M. Rice is responsible for the strategic management of Magna’s government affairs initiative. It is here that she provides effective economic and workforce development, education, and advocacy services to all of Magna, while also serving as the company’s voice with global public policy makers, government officials, industry organizations and community leaders to promote the mission and strategic goals of Magna.
In 2020, Rice was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Women’s Commission and is the Past President of the board of directors for Women in Manufacturing Association (WiM) and First Vice Chair of the National Lieutenant Governors Association, Partners Program. Most recently she was named one of Crain’s Notable LGBTQ in Business for 2022.
Rice also services on the board of directors for the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Public Affairs Council, Global Business Alliance, South Carolina Business Council and Foster Care Review Board of Oakland County Michigan. She is a member of the Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation, Southern Automotive Women's Forum, and State Government Affairs Council. Rice is a member of the Data Advocacy and State Advocacy committees for the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness (CREC) – an organization that provides policymakers from around the world with the information and technical assistance to formulate and execute innovative, regional, job-creating economic strategies.
Prior to joining Magna in 2016, Rice worked for Stellantis (formerly Fiat Chrysler Automobiles). She has more than 25 years of legal, government and consumer affairs experience and has advanced policy areas including automotive, transportation, manufacturing, education, and health care law, to name a few. Rice also managed political campaigns for a variety of issues, organizations and candidates and has been an adjunct professor of history, public relations, political science, and public administration.
Rice holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Tulsa, a master’s in public administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern State University.
