Michigan Hazmat Responder of the Year Award

The Michigan State Police, Hazardous Materials Training Unit has established a new annual award recognizing the Michigan hazardous materials responder who has made significant contributions locally or regionally to the hazardous materials emergency response profession. This award recognizes individuals who exemplify great leadership and commitment to the mission and goals of the Michigan hazardous materials response community. Nominees are highly esteemed by their colleagues and peers and are recognized for upholding professional standards, mentoring others, and contributing to day-to-day excellence within their chosen department/agency.

This prestigious award will be presented at the 2025 Michigan Hazmat Responder Conference (MIHRC) on April 23 at Boyne Mountain Resort.

Winner Receives:

• Free attendee registration, lodging, and conference provided meals to the 2025 MIHRC on April 22-24, 2025.
• Recognition at General Session the morning of April 23.
• An award to take back to their home or agency to proudly display.
• Recognition on the new Michigan Hazmat Responder of the Year plaque to be on display in the lobby of the Michigan Hazmat Training Center.
• And of course, bragging rights!
